Rieck’s Archaeological Collection (Riecks Arkæologiske Samling) was created by Jørgen Rieck over a period of 60 years.
The collection contains more than 50,000 objects and is one of the largest private collections of ancient finds in Denmark. In some geographical areas, the collection even surpasses The National Museum.
There are finds from Bundsø on Als, Anholt, Fyns Hoved and other places.
Some rare objects belongs to the Crown – and you can see the brain skull of the Cro-Magnon man “Peter”, which was found at Gilbækken near Elsmark not far from the museum.
The period of the finds range from the Stone Age to Medieval times, with emphasis on the Stone Age.
